Head down to Dollymount Strand this weekend and take in the Pure Magic Battle for the Bay Watersports Festival. This Festival was established in 2006 and welcomes kite surfers, sup riders, volleyball players, extreme sports lovers and spectators alike. There will a number of competitions held over the weekend to keep spectators entertained. There's alot more on over the weekend to keep you going such as live music, a bio-diversity village, kids zone and food village.
Free Shuttle Bus
Getting there could not be easier with Dollymount Strand only a fifteen minute walk to the beach from Raheny DART station with a free shuttle bus operating from the station every 30 minutes.
Battle for the Bay is back this year and takes place on 20th and 21st May 2017, it promises to deliver the usual fun, entertainment and aerial acrobatics which has helped it become one of the best free family weekends in the summer calendar.
Bring your friends, bring your family to Dollymount Strand to enjoy an amazing extreme water show and have a great day at the beach. The best kite surfers from Ireland and the world will descend on the shore to showcase their spectacular skills and gravity defying moves as they skim the water surface and compete for the coveted King or Queen of the Bay crown. Growing from an audience of just 50 in 2006, Battle for the Bay now boasts an incredible 65,000 visitors over the weekend!
There will be all the usual entertainment on dry land with live music all day from DJs and bands: a beach market selling everything from vintage clothes, vinyl records, Arts & Crafts, jewellery, Farmers Market Food Village: Kids Zone with fairground rides, Big Wheel, Beach Volleyball and a Biodiversity Village where you can explore the wildlife of Dublin Bay with some very friendly experts.
