Take the family on a day out to Bloom in Phoenix Park
Many of you have no doubt already heard about Bord Bia’s Bloom festival. Whether you want inspiration, education or entertainment, the place to be this June Bank Holiday weekend is the colourful Bloom Garden Festival in the Phoenix Park, Dublin. Organised by Bord Bia, this year’s event is five days long (9am to 6pm) and it takes place from Thursday 1st June to Monday 5th June 2017. Bloom is not a free event, however kids go free!
The easiest way to Bloom is by train. Take the family on a day out with our fantastic fares and arrive into Heuston Station relaxed and refreshed without the hassle of traffic ready to enjoy your day.
We would advise customers to reserve their seats to and from Heuston if you are heading to Bloom. Services will be extremely busy and priority will be given to those passengers that book online.
Free Shuttle Bus
Take a FREE shuttle bus straight to Bloom. Shuttle buses depart from Parkgate Street, beside Heuston Station and will take you into the Phoenix Park (and back again). Passengers travelling from Connolly Station can also avail of the shuttle bus service by travelling to Heuston on the 90 Dublin Bus.
Bloom promises to be a great day out with something planned for all ages; it is a truly unique show, showcasing the finest Irish food, drink and of course horticulture. For any budding gardeners it will provide lots of inspiration and opportunities to pick up some beautiful plants, flowers, seeds and shrubs. Or if you want to explore growing your own fruit and vegetables then you’ll get lots of tips on how to start growing at the show. But if gardening isn’t your thing then you’ll still have plenty to keep you busy including the Superb Food Village with plenty of artisan producers; the Best in Season marquees featuring growers of seasonal fruit and vegetables; the Chefs’ Quality Kitchen at Bloom will host cookery demonstrations from some of Ireland’s much loved chefs including Neven Maguire, Catherine Fulvio, Fiona Uyema and Brian McDermott.
With an outdoor music stage, picnic area, engaging spaces, kids playground and lots more besides, the Bloom festival really is the place to be this June bank holiday weekend. If you don’t fancy driving, use the train and avail of the courtesy shuttle bus from Heuston station to the 70 acre Bloom site.
