Dick Fearn, Chief Executive
As Chief Executive, Dick has overall responsibility for the safe and efficient provision of our services and for the strategic future development of the railway business.
After 30 years in the rail industry in the UK, Dick joined Iarnród Éireann in 2003 as Chief Operating Officer and was appointed as Chief Executive in 2006. He is a daily DART commuter.
Outside of work, Dick enjoys gardening and country music and confirming his status as a “railwayman”, he is a lifelong supporter of Crewe Alexandra Football Club. He also completed the London Marathon, in 1997.
Don Cunningham, Assistant Chief Executive, Engineering
Don joined Iarnród Éireann in 2006 as Director, New Works and since late 2011, has been Assistant Chief Executive, Engineering, covering civil engineering (track and structures), signalling & electrical engineering and mechanical engineering (trains).
Don manages and coordinates the activities of the three engineering disciplines to ensure that trains and network meet customer requirements. Don has spent most of his career in the mining industry with Anglo American PLC and has also worked with Lisheen Mine in Tipperary.
He is a keen golfer and enjoys watching all sports.

Cal Carmichael, Assistant Chief Executive, Operations
Cal, who hails from Scotland, is responsible for the management of station and train operations, customer service, signalling control and train planning across the Intercity and commuter network. He is also currently managing the project to make Iarnród Éireann compliant with EU regulations for the structure of rail provision, which takes effect in Ireland in 2013.
He has worked in Iarnród Éireann since 2004 in the operations area, following previous roles with Ford, Textron Ltd. and Network Rail Scotland.
Cal enjoys keeping fit, with both a marathon and a Mizen Head to Malin Head cycle under his belt and spending time with his family.

Aidan Cronin, Chief Financial Officer
Aidan joined Iarnród Éireann in August 2008 as Chief Financial Officer. He is a Chartered Management Accountant (FCMA) and holds an MBA. He has wide accountancy and commercial experience in industry in Ireland and with General Electric in the USA.
He took over the responsibilities of Chief Financial Officer at Iarnród Éireann at a critical time, at the onset of the current economic difficulties in Ireland.
Ciaran Masterson, Director Human Resources
Ciarán is responsible for the Human Resources function in Iarnród Éireann, ranging from personnel development to industrial relations. It is a role he has held since 2010.
He joined Iarnród Éireann in 1985 as an Apprentice Electrician, and has worked in a range of roles including management responsibilities in the operations, catering and personnel areas.
Ciarán’s management responsibilities continue away from Iarnród Éireann, managing the schoolboys' team for his local club. He also enjoys the cinema with his family.

Gerry Culligan, Commercial Director
The newest member of the Iarnród Éireann executive team, Gerry joined the company in January 2012 and is responsible for all matters relating to revenue and customer care.
Gerry has over 25 years commercial experience across a number of industries, holding senior executive roles in Financial Services with Aviva, in Communications with Eircom and in Grocery with Mars Ireland.
Gerry is an avid squash player and enjoys outdoor sports particularly cycling and running. He has completed four marathons, albeit a number of years ago he says!
Peter Muldoon, Director New Works
Peter has overall responsibility for establishing the capital investment strategy for the company and for delivering the capital investment programme in new railway infrastructure. In addition, the Director, New Works is responsible for the company’s environment and energy performance management.
He has formerly worked in several engineering consultancies and contracting organisations in Ireland in the UK within the Road, Rail and Water/Waste Water sectors, before joining Iarnród Éireann in 2002 as the company Structural Engineer. Later, Peter became Programme Manager General Works and DART Underground Project Manager.
A proud Tyrone GAA supporter, he is also a golfer and enjoys the Italian language.
Barry Kenny, Corporate Communications Manager
Barry joined Iarnród Éireann in 1994 and has spent his career with the company in the communications area.
Best known for representing the company in the broadcast and print media, Barry is also responsible for a number of areas including social media policy and development and liaison with public representatives, as well as media relations.
Barry enjoys travelling the world and has a keen interest in sport and current affairs.
Jim Meade, Manager, Intercity & Commuter Network
Jim is General Manager, Intercity and Commuter Network and is responsible for the management, control, supervision and delivery of all rail operation activities covering the national network and commuter routes.
He has worked in Iarnród Éireann throughout his career, beginning in 1983, initially in mechanical engineering, before moving to operations management.
Jim is an avid motorsports fan & has competed in a number of rallies and enjoys spending time with his family.
Roger Tobin, Manager DART
Roger is responsible for the provision of DART services to over 16 million customers annually over the Howth/Malahide to Bray/Greystones section, including the stations along the route.
Roger joined Iarnród Éireann in 1986 and has worked in a range of roles, including Station Manager in Cork and Station Manager in Connolly.
When not overseeing DART, he enjoys GAA, soccer and cycling.
