What are the conditions of travel?

Customers who hold a Free Travel / DSFA Pass can book on their chosen service by selecting the 'Free Travel Pass' option in the Passenger selection box. Customers are advised there is limited availability for Free Travel bookings online.

  • You can purchase the ticket above using our Journey Planner. Tickets can only be purchased up to 90 days in advance.
  • An allocation of bookings on all InterCity services can be reserved online without a fee for 'Free Travel Pass or valid ticket holders'. When this allocation is fully booked, all remaining seats can be reserved by 'Free Travel Pass or valid ticket holders' for €2.50 per journey.

Iarnród Éireann Network Statement

The Network Statement is published for the use of applicants seeking infrastructure capacity in the Republic of Ireland as provided for in Statutory Instrument 55 of 2010 for the purpose of giving effect to EU Directive 2001/14 of the European Parliament.

The Network Statement provides all current and potential train operators wishing to operate train services on our infrastructure with a single source of relevant information on a fair and non-discriminatory basis. It details the general rules, terms, procedures and criteria governing capacity allocation. It also contains information required to submit applications for the allocation of train path capacities and describes the charging system.

In line with our obligations under the Regulations, the Network Statement will be kept up to date and modified as necessary. Please see a pdf link to our Network Statement and the path allocation request form below.

Weekly Circular Information 

The Weekly Circular, also known as the Weekly Operating Notice, contains details of the weekly operating environment for services outside the regular Working Timetable along with information on engineering possessions, temporary speed restrictions and special notices (e.g. safety and track information).

Iarnród Éireann Weekly Circular details are available only to registered Railway Undertaking organisations (RUs).
