The European Rugby Champions Cup kicked off on the 13th October with the top names in European rugby competing for that elusive spot in Bilbao's San Mamés Stadium in May 2018. This will be the first time in the history of the competition that a final will be played in Spain.
Ulster don't have a clear path to the knock-out stages with the likes of Wasps and Harlequins standing in the way but they will be looking to learn from last year’s mistakes.
After failing to qualify for the Champions Cup this year Connacht will be looking to put their mark in Europe and finish on top in the Challenge Cup.
After last years’ success in the competition and the success of players on the Lions Tour Leinster and Munster will be looking to take it one step further this season and make it to the final in May.
