Video blog: Flooding at Ballycar on the Ennis to Limerick line
The Ennis to Limerick line has been closed since December 2015 when it flooded as a result of the extreme storms the country was suffering.
However, the unique geography of a section of line near Ballycar has seen a prolonged closure of the line.
With flood levels having peaked and now receding, the Ennis to Limerick line is expected to reopen by mid-May 2016.
Valerie Scott, Assistant Regional Manager (West), Iarnród Éireann Infrastructure outlines the extent of flooding, why the line has flooded for such a prolonged period, and discusses possible solutions.

Great video and cause of flooding explained clearly for those of us not familiar with turloughs. Great work; thanks
