Irishrail.ie Scoops Top Award at this year’s Ireland eGovernment Awards!

Irishrail.ie has been awarded  a Best State Body award at this year’s eGovernement Awards for the redesign and redevelopment of irishrail.ie.  The announcement was made at a gala event which took place at Dublin Castle on 25th April last. Irishrail.ie beat off stiff competition from the Ordinance Survey Ireland (decisionmap.ie), National Cancer Control Programme (NCCP Electronic Cancer referral project), National Disability Authority (elearning Module on Disability Equality Training) and The Defence Forces.

The judging panel was comprised of industry leaders from both the public and private sector. The judges were fulsome in the praise for the redevelopment of the website stating that: "irishrail.ie were worthy winners for the re-design and re-development of their web-site which included major improvements in accessibility".

A special commissioned trophy was presented to Iarnród Éireann by Minister for Public Expenditure and reform. The awards are run jointly by the Public Sector Times newspaper, and web usage & web strategy experts, Elucidate, raise awareness and recognise the innovators , developers, forward thinkers and experts who are pioneering the changes happening in how the Irish Government delivers services to its citizens.
