Bus transfers between Limerick & Ennis until further notice

Bus Transfers are in operation due to flooding on the line at Ballycar

Iarnród Éireann advises customers that bus transfers are in operation between Limerick and Ennis from Saturday 27th January until further notice.

This is due to flooding at Ballycar, an area which has seen a number of significant flood events in recent years, and the bus transfers are expected to continue for another 6 to 12 weeks.

Customers should note:

  • All services between Limerick and Ennis will be substituted by bus, except:
    • the 06:50hrs Limerick to Ennis Sunday Service is cancelled
    • the 21:40hrs Ennis to Limerick Sunday Service is cancelled
  • All services between Limerick and Galway will be substituted by bus between Limerick and Ennis, with train services continuing between Ennis and Galway
  • Sixmilebridge Station will have bus transfers to/from Limerick and Ennis, but to a reduced frequency - all details are avaiable on our our journey planner 

Iarnród Éireann will monitor flood levels which are continuing to rise, and advise customers on likely service restoration dates when flood levels begin to recede.  We apologise for the inconvenience caused.
