Service Disruption Malahide Viaduct ~ Refund Policy August 2009
Taxsaver Refunds Northern Commuter single/return tickets refunds Enterprise Refunds
Iarnród Éireann apologises to customers for the disruption to services caused by the collapse of the viaduct near Malahide. It is hoped that the extensive alternative services in place will help ease the disruption for our customer. If, however, some customers feel that they wish to surrender their ticket as they make alternative arrangements, the following are the procedures.
Refund Arrangments
1) Taxsaver Annual or Monthly Commuter Tickets: Where customers surrender their Taxsaver Tickets, a refund pro rata to the amount of time left will be refunded. i.e. Where an annual ticket holder has three months left we will refund them three months based on 3/12 of the price paid for the annual ticket. Where a monthly ticket holder (August) has a week left we will refund them ¼ of the price paid.
Taxsaver tickets must be surrendered to the Employee’s administrator who will then deal directly with Iarnród Éireann. Administrators have been advised of the procedure.
2) Single/Return Tickets or Annual & Monthly Commuter Ticket holders (Non Taxsaver):
Where customers surrender their Annual or Monthly (August) Tickets, a refund pro rata to the amount of time left will be refunded. i.e. Where an annual ticket holder has three months left we will refund them three months based on 3/12 of the price paid for the annual ticket. Where a monthly ticket holder has a week left we will refund them ¼ of the price paid.

3) Enterprise Customers who were in possession of a single/return ticket who were affected by the disrupted over the period 21st – 24th August should fill a refund application from (click here) and send the completed form along with your ticket(s) to the Customer Relation Department above.
Administration fees will be waived on all refund applications arising from this disruption on the Northern Route.
