Bridge Works on L8591 Coolfin Road from Friday 5th - Monday 8th June by Corporate Communications

In order to re-open the Western Rail Corridor it is necessary to renew the railway bridge on the L8591 Coolfin road. This construction work requires the road to be closed to road users.

There will be a full road closure on the L8591 Coolfin road at the railway bridge from Friday the 5th of June at 11.00am to Monday the 8th June at 4.00pm. This will facilitate the necessary renewal of the existing rail bridge.

Following the works above there will be part road closures on the L8591. There will be temporary traffic lights at the railway bridge on the L8591 from the 9th of June to the 12th of June between the hours of 10.00am and 4.00pm.

This will allow Iarnród Éireann to carry out works on the approach roads to the bridge.

There will be a further full road closure on the L8591 Coolfin road from Friday the 3rd of July at 11.00am to Monday the 6th July at 4.00pm. This will facilitate the installation of crash barriers on the bridge.

Alternative Route

• Traffic heading north on N18 and intending to turn left onto Coolfin Road shall continue north and shall turn left onto the Labane Road; traffic shall continue on Labane Road to the Chessy North crossroads, and turn left again.

• Traffic heading south on N18 and intending to turn right onto Coolfin Road shall continue south and shall turn right onto Kiltartan Road just south of the level crossing.
