Additional Rail Services for Upcoming Events
Ireland is set for an action packed few months with some amazing events taking place. Below is a list of upcoming concerts and events which we will be running additional services for!
The DART is the perfect way to get around Dublin, you won't have to worry about traffic or parking so you can arrive relaxed and ready to enjoy the atmosphere.
InterCity Customers wishing to travel by rail will have to book their tickets online as services will be busy and priority will be given to customers who book their tickets online. Tickets for the additional late night services (where applicable) will only be sold online with tickets not available for customers who show up at the station.

Please be advised that due to the Concerts and Events taking place an increased number of passengers will be travelling on our services and we advise customers to arrive early for their InterCity departure service to allow for the appropriate amount of time to collect tickets and board the service.
Travel Regulations
- Pre book for InterCity Travel
- Tickets are only valid on the service booked. Customers wishing to travel on an alternative service must amend online in advance
- Alcohol is not permitted on any train service
- Free travel pass holders please note free travel passes are non-transferrable and can only be used by the named person. Click here for more information on how to reserve a seat using a free travel pass.

All Together Now
Curraghmore House, Waterford - Thursday 1st to Sunday 4th August
Fleadh Cheoil
Wexford Town - Sunday 4th to Sunday 11th August
Due to the annual Fleadh Cheoil na Éireann taking place in Wexford Town from Sunday 4th August through to Sunday 11th August 2024 inclusive, the line between Wexford and Rosslare will be closed for the duration of the event. As a result the following service alterations and amendments will take place:
- A train service will operate between Dublin Connolly and Wexford
- Bus transfers will operate between Enniscorthy, Wexford and Rosslare on all regular services between the 4th and 11th August (with the exception of the 05:50 Gorey to Connolly from 6th to 9th August)
- A number of additional services will also operate between Connolly and Wexford and Wexford and Arklow in both directions. Please check our Journey Planner for details.
- Booking in advance is essential to avoid disappointment as space is limited
Electric Picnic
Stradbally, Co Laois - Thursday 15th to Sunday 18th August
Bus Éireann will be operating a shuttle service between Portarlington station and the Electric Picnic site in Stradbally. For more information on buses to Electric Picnic please see the Electric Picnic and Bus Éireann websites.

National Ploughing Championships
Ratheniska - 17th to 19th September
Bus Éireann Return Shuttle Bus - National Ploughing Championships
Bus Éireann will be operating a shuttle service between Portarlington, Portlaoise and Athy stations and the Ploughing Championships.
This shuttle bus can be booked as an add-on on the 'Extras' page when booking your train ticket from Cork, Limerick and Tralee to Portarlington/Portlaoise. Services on other routes (Galway, Westport, Waterford) will be available to book shortly.
For your return trip, please be at the Bus Éireann pick up at the Ploughing Championships 60 minutes before your train is scheduled to depart. Please present your ticket and booking confirmation to the bus driver.

Priority for customers who book online
Customers wishing to travel by rail need to book their tickets online as services will be extremely busy and priority will be given to customers who book their tickets online. There is limited availability on services so don't miss out and buy now.
Students
Students can also avail of our discounted student fares when booking online. Our student return fare to Dublin Heuston from Limerick is €10.39 and from Cork is €14.39. This also includes free reserved seating where applicable.
Leap Card
Leap Card is a convenient way to pay for rail services in Dublin and Cork and it saves you carrying change.
Customers can save up to 20 percent on Dart and short hop zone rail journeys in the Dublin area when using Leap card instead of single or return tickets. Check out current Leap Card fares and see what you can save.
