Exciting opportunities to join our expanding Capital Investment Division

 

Iarnród Éireann Irish Rail – Capital Investment Division

We are now recruiting for the following roles to support the delivery of our Train Protection System (TPS) Project, Customer Information Systems (CIS) Projects and other Network Enhancement projects.  

 

Train Protection System (TPS)

The TPS Project is a €72 million NTA funded project to deploy trackside infrastructure between Drogheda and Greystones initially with a planned national rollout following the completion of this initial phase.

The main objective for successful candidates will be working to provide a futureproof replacement (ETCS Level 1) system for our current warning and train protection signalling systems.    Essentially, this project would see a range of improvements in both safety and reliability and would be rolled out across Ireland over the coming years, commencing with the deployment of trackside infrastructure on the Drogheda to Greystones line.

As part of our team, successful applicants will be given the opportunity to interface with the Signalling/Civil Projects and Technical teams. 

A number of vacancies have arisen to support the current TPS team for the grade of Assistant Project Manager, Assistant Engineers Trackside and Project Planner.

 

Customer Information Systems (CIS)

The CIS programme of work involves the development and rollout of a number of projects which will ensure the availability of real time passenger information to all parties who require access to it and in the format they require, either through traditional or future technologies.   It will include the provision of a dedicated centralised Customer Communications Centre which will involve the development and subsequent rollout of Customer information systems on board our trains and at stations nationally, in addition to the development of reliable real time passenger information systems to provide the information feeds to these systems.  The programme of work is estimated at circa €135M and will be rolled out over the coming years. 

A number of vacancies have arisen for this programme of work for the grade of Senior Project Manager, Project Manager, Assistant Project Manager and Project Planner.

 

Network Enhancements

The Network Enhancements section of Capital Investments is managing a growing portfolio of projects across the network including significant planned investments in the regional cities of Limerick, Galway and Waterford, as well new stations and station upgrades, new buildings and building refurbishment, car park expansion schemes, elimination of level crossings, and major infrastructure development in Rosslare Europort.

A number of vacancies have arisen at Assistant Project Manager grade to join the existing Dublin based team, reporting to a Project Manager.  

 

Vacancies Available

Applications are invited from suitably qualified & experienced candidates to the fill the following positions to help deliver key elements of the TPS Project, CIS Project and Network Enhancement projects as outlined above. 

  • Assistant Project Manager (TPS) with minimum of 5 years PM experience
  • Assistant Engineers Trackside (TPS) with minimum of 2 years project engineering experience
  • Senior Project Manager (CIS) with a minimum of 15 years PM experience
  • Project Manager (CIS) with a minimum of 10 years PM experience
  • Assistant Project Managers (CIS) with a minimum of 5 years PM experience
  • Assistant Project Managers (Network Enhancements) with a minimum of 5 years PM experience
  • Project Planner (TPS & CIS) with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in planning and scheduling

Other essential requirements for the roles include:

  • Applicants must hold a Building, Engineering, Construction or Project Management degree
  • Member of Engineers Ireland or other relevant professional body
  • Relevant general management and project management experience
  • A full driving licence
  • Experience in the delivery of Railway Systems projects would be beneficial for the CIS roles

A competency-based interview will from part of the selection process.  Candidates may be shortlisted on the basis of experience and/or application/CV

The salary that will apply will be commensurate with experience.
