What are the conditions of travel?

Customers who hold a Free Travel / DSFA Pass can book on their chosen service by selecting the 'Free Travel Pass' option in the Passenger selection box. Customers are advised there is limited availability for Free Travel bookings online.

  • You can purchase the ticket above using our Journey Planner. Tickets can only be purchased up to 90 days in advance.
  • An allocation of bookings on all InterCity services can be reserved online without a fee for 'Free Travel Pass or valid ticket holders'. When this allocation is fully booked, all remaining seats can be reserved by 'Free Travel Pass or valid ticket holders' for €2.50 per journey.

Safety Systems Development and Support Manager

Applications are invited for the position of Safety Systems Development and Support Manager with the Director of Health and Safety team of Iarnród Éireann.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support for the business on cross-functional safety matters
  • Support the development and Leading of safety improvement projects
  • Develop and implement Group Standards for matters which apply to IE
  • Manage the development, delivery and updating of the Enterprise Risk Model for IE
  • Liaise with International organisations on trends and advise accordingly
  • Build relationships with European and International organisations and share transferrable lessons
  • Participate in development forums within ERA and UIC to develop initiatives for rail safety
  • Keep informed on emerging safety issues and technologies for opportunities to apply new solution to enhance management and performance
  • Develop and implement a cross function strategy for workforce safety
  • Lead introduction of deep dives and single point failure reviews
  • Participate in projects and initiatives as directed by the Director of Health and Safety
  • Lead, Support and co-ordinate the development and collation of departmental Safety plans in alignment with the IE Safety Strategy Framework.
  • Manage and co-ordinate the annual Health and Safety Awards.
  • Develop the IÉ Network-wide standards

Essential Requirements:

  • Degree in Health & Safety or relevant postgraduate qualification
  • A minimum of five years working at a senior level in Safety
  • Good Communication and Interpersonal

Desirable Requirements:

  • A good understanding of the Irish Rail organisation
  • Familiarity with Safety Management System & procedures within Irish
  • Management experience within an engineering / rail operating

A competency-based interview will form part of this selection process.  Candidates may be shortlisted on the basis of experience and/or application/CV.
