Context\u003C/h3>\n\u003Cp>During the public consultation for the \u003Ca href=\"https://www.dartplus.ie/en-ie/projects/dart-south-west\">DART+ South West project\u003C/a>, a significant number of local residents requested that a new station at Cabra be considered.\u003C/p>\n\u003Cp>Iarnród Éireann has listened to these requests and, following a feasibility study, has now developed plans for this station.\u003C/p>\n\u003Cp>The new station will be located in the centre of Cabra, providing good public transport interchange opportunities, with four bus stops within 100m of the station entrance. It will be served by the proposed Dublin BusConnects routes passing along the R147 Cabra Road, as well as local cycle routes running along the R805 Old Cabra Road. It is also an approximate 13 minute walk to the Luas Green line (Phibsborough stop) and a 23-minute walk from the new station to the TUD campus at Grangegorman.\u003C/p>\n\u003Cfigure data-asset-id=\"d2e4edda-0fb0-5a15-83e6-6fc243a140f9\" data-image-id=\"d2e4edda-0fb0-5a15-83e6-6fc243a140f9\">\u003Cimg src=\"https://assets-eu-01.kc-usercontent.com:443/d2e85689-fbf9-010a-a02e-587ed94b5032/936df45c-2175-4d62-8de4-beec614b1625/da115e6b-9794-47a7-915f-ed8d1970951b.jpg\" data-asset-id=\"d2e4edda-0fb0-5a15-83e6-6fc243a140f9\" data-image-id=\"d2e4edda-0fb0-5a15-83e6-6fc243a140f9\" alt=\"\">\u003C/figure>\n\u003Cp>Cabra is located on the Phoenix Park Tunnel line, which sees train services operating from Newbridge / Hazelhatch in Co Kildare through Cabra and onwards to Connolly / Grand Canal Dock. The new station will provide rail access for up to 26,000 people living within one km of the station with direct and frequent services to Dublin city centre. Access to the southbound platform will be via fully accessible lifts and stairs and a covered footbridge.\u003C/p>\n\u003Cp>The footbridge will feature frosted screening to prevent over-looking into nearby properties.
