• What forms of payment does Iarnród Éireann accept?

  Reservations made Online:

  • Visa Debit Card
  • Mastercard
  • Credit Card
  • PayPal

  Resevations made over the phone (Telesales):

  • Visa Debit Card
  • Mastercard
  • Credit Card

  We do not accept American Express cards.

  Reservation made in person (ie at selected booking offices):

  • Cash
  • Credit/Debit Cards

• Are payments taken if the order is not completed? If an order is rejected how to get a refund?

  Yes, payments are taken before card verification. The refund is issued automatically if the verification is unsuccessful so the customer doesn’t have to request it.
   

• Do I pay VAT on train tickets?

  No, rail tickets are VAT exempt. If you require proof of purchase, we recommend that you present your ticket and booking confirmation email, (where applicable).
