Customers who are already in possession of or purchasing on the day of travel a valid standard class ticket(s) such as Family Tickets, Day Return, Open Return, Weekly, Monthly, Annual, InterRail and Free Travel pass holders can book on their chosen service by selecting the 'Free Travel Pass or Valid Ticket' option. Customers are advised there is limited availability for seat only reservations online.

  • You can purchase the ticket above using our Journey Planner. Tickets can only be purchased up to 90 days in advance.
  • An allocation of bookings on all InterCity services can be reserved online without a fee for 'Free Travel Pass or valid ticket holders'. When this allocation is fully booked, all remaining seats can be reserved by 'Free Travel Pass or valid ticket holders' for €2.50 per journey.

Christmas 2022 Late night DART and Commuter

Details of late night DART, Maynooth, Dundalk and Kildare services on weekends in the run-up to Christmas, and for New Year's Eve

Late night DART and Commuter services will operate from Friday 2nd December on the weekends in the run-up to Christmas, and after Dublin’s New Year’s Eve celebrations.

The services will operate across the DART network, as well as Commuter services to Maynooth, Dundalk, and to Kildare (via the Phoenix Park Tunnel)

Fridays and Saturdays

The full schedule of DART and Commuter services is as follows:

Friday 2nd and Saturday 3rd December
Friday 9th and Saturday 10th December
Friday 16th and Saturday 17th December
Friday 23rd December
  • 00:30 and 01:30 from Pearse serving all stations to Howth
  • 00:30 and 01:30 from Connolly serving all stations to Greystones
  • 00:40 and 01:40 from Pearse serving Tara St, Connolly, and all stations from Howth Junction to Dundalk
  • 00:20 and 02:00 from Pearse serving all stations to Maynooth
  • 23:50 and 01:50 from Pearse serving all stations to Drumcondra, and all stations from ParkWest to Kildare

New Year’s Eve

Late night Saturday 31st December (after New Year’s Eve concerts):
  • 01:30 and 02:30 from Pearse serving all stations to Howth
  • 01:30 and 02:30 from Connolly serving all stations to Greystones
  • 01:40 and 02:40 from Pearse serving Tara St, Connolly, and all stations from Howth Junction to Dundalk
  • 01:20 and 03:00 from Pearse serving all stations to Maynooth
  • 00:50 and 02:50 from Pearse serving all stations to Drumcondra, and all stations from ParkWest to Kildare

Full details are available on our Journey Planner - for departures after midnight, please choose following date. (E.g for night of Friday 23rd December, search Saturday 24th December.)

Fares will be charged at normal rates, meaning customers can use Leapcard and buy cash fares for the best value Christmas travel option. 

Furthermore, weekly, monthly and annual season tickets are valid on late night services, so season ticket holders will be able to use the services at no extra charge.

Late night services will have security personnel on board to ensure customer safety.
