Health and Wellbeing Officer Maternity Leave cover - minimum 6 months, likely extending to around 12 months (fixed purpose contract)
Location - Connolly Head Office, Dublin 1
Salary - B78 (€28,661.19 - €48,044.94: Depending on experience)
Applications are being invited from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Health and Wellbeing Officer. The company is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented professional with a passion for health and wellbeing.
The role of the Health and Wellbeing Officer will be to support Iarnród Éireann’s Health and Wellbeing team in the smooth and efficient implementation of Health and Wellbeing programme. As an integral member of our team, you will play a vital role in facilitating effective communication and providing exceptional support.
Responsibilities
- Support the setup and rollout of health and wellbeing programs focusing on physical and mental health
- Assist in communicating the health and wellbeing program, including preparing and publishing articles
- Collaborate with a regional network of Health and Wellbeing Champions
- Manage the wellbeing inbox and address general program queries
- Assist in event setup, potentially involving travel to various IÉ locations
- Handle procurement requests such as PO requests and involvement in obtaining quotes
- Manage program data and evaluations
- Support in briefing design agencies for posters and other materials
- Assist in reporting post-events and program outcomes
- Organize and distribute items such as prizes and resources
Essential Criteria
- Experience in health promotion projects related to physical and/or mental health
- Understanding of workplace health promotion principles
- Proven track record of engaging people and supporting behaviour change
- Proficiency in administrative tasks including quotes, POs, invoices, and event coordination
- Positive approach to project involvement, from planning to execution, including administrative aspects
- Ability to take direction and support the rollout of health and wellbeing projects
- Genuine interest and passion for personal and collective health and wellbeing
- Openness to learning and curiosity about health-related topics
- Experience in writing posts, articles, and reports
Desirable Criteria
- Experience working with internal and external stakeholders
- Previous involvement in running inclusive, accessible activities and events
- Event management experience

- Strong organizational, teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively and gain credibility and respect from others
- Proficient IT skills
