Data Enterprise Architect

Salary: 4B €85,536.66 - €88,913.09 (3-year scale)
Applications are invited for the position of Data Enterprise Architect within the ICT Chief Technology Officers Department. This role will report into Lead Enterprise Architect
The Data Enterprise Architect owns the enterprise wide data architecture strategy, principles and reference models that underpin digital transformation and business value creation. This role will ensure that data is treated as a strategic, trusted, and secure asset, aligning every initiative with enterprise architecture standards, business strategy, security best practices, and regulatory obligations.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy & Governance
- Develop and maintain the Enterprise Data Architecture Strategy and Roadmap, fully aligned to our broader EA framework.
- Define and curate principles, standards, and reference models across business, application, and technology layers.
- Ensure project alignment with data standards and best practices.
Integration with Enterprise Change
- Embed datacentric thinking into solution designs by collaborating with business, application, technology, and security architects.
- Represent data architecture at Architecture Review Boards (ADRB, TAC) and transformation governance forums.
Platform & Governance Enablement
- Provide strategic guidance on data platforms, integration patterns, metadata management, and tooling that enable data governance and literacy.
- Ensure alignment with GDPR, data residency, retention, and other compliance requirements.
Optimisation & Reuse
- Drive rationalisation of data assets, promote reuse through curated architecture repositories (Alfabet, ARIS).
Mentoring & Advocacy
- Champion dataarchitecture best practices and mentor architects, engineers, and data professionals across the organisation.
- Guide graduates and other team members in data architecture.

Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- TOGAF (required) & ArchiMate (preferred) Practitioner certifications.
- Dataarchitecture certifications (e.g., CDMP, DGSP).
- Azure certifications (AZ900, DP203, etc.) advantageous.
- Agile / DevOps / Scrum certifications an additional plus.
Required Skills and Experience
- Enterprise/Data Architecture Expertise – Minimum 5 years as an Enterprise Architect with a data/information specialty.
- Technical Depth – Data modelling, data integration, metadata management, integration platforms/strategies, and modern cloud data stacks (MS SQL, Azure preferred: ADF, pipelines, IaC).
- EA Frameworks & Tools – TOGAF, ArchiMate, Alfabet (highly desirable), ARIS (highly desirable), Horizzon, with a strong understanding of how data underpins business capabilities and value streams.
- Governance & Compliance – Familiarity with DAMADMBOK and proven track record aligning architectures with GDPR and other regulatory requirements.
- Stakeholder Engagement – Ability to translate complex technical concepts for senior business and nontechnical audiences; influence decisions across Csuite, programme, and engineering teams.
- Cloud & DevOps – Handson experience with cloud services (Azure desirable) and DevOps practices (CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code).
