Materials Controller
Clerical Officer Grade 1
It is an exciting time to be a part of Irish Rail’s busy Railway Undertaking (RU) Materials Department! Applications for Material Controller are now invited. The role holder will contribute to the RU Procurement Business and will be based in Inchicore, Dublin 8. This is a great opportunity for candidates interested in developing their knowledge of Material Planning systems.
The main focus of this role is to support the Chief Mechanical Engineers Department Supply Chain Manager in the management of materials. The purpose of the role is to ensure all Material Purchases are in line with the customers’ requirements and compliant with CIE Group Procurement Policies & Procedures.
The successful candidate will be required to:
- Support the Chief Mechanical Engineers Department Supply Chain Manager in the management of materials.
- Ensure stock levels are set to optimize customer service while minimizing the financial impact to Irish Rail
- Assist in the Management of associated tender and contract administration process for material supply.
- Liaise with the Engineering Technical Offices and other specialists re materials specifications and other inputs.
- Attend meetings with internal customers to review their requirements.
- Ensure our supply base provide the levels of service we demand by constant monitoring of lead times, prices and continuous dialogue.
- At all times adhere to the CIE group policies and procedures, European and National directives when purchasing materials.
- Adhere to the requirements of the CIE Code of Business Ethics for Employees
- Experience in SAP MM and excellent IT Skills are obligatory.
Interested candidates must demonstrate the following essential criteria:
- SAP MM Experience (MRP & Order Creation)
- MS Office (particularly Excel & Outlook)
Desirable criteria
- General Business Diploma
- Inventory Management Qualification
- Certificate in Public Procurement
- Experience in Material Planning role
