Materials Controller
Iarnród Éireann Irish Rail is seeking a Materials Controller to join our dynamic team at Inchicore Works. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in supporting Ireland’s expanding rail infrastructure at a time of unprecedented investment and innovation.
As we continue to modernise and electrify our network, this role will directly contribute to major national projects that prioritise sustainability, efficiency, and a greener future for public transport in Ireland.
The purpose of the role is to ensure all Material Purchases are in line with our customers’ requirements and are compliant with CIE Group Procurement Policies & Procedures. Supply Chain experience is essential. The successful candidate will contribute to the RU Procurement Business and will be based in Inchicore.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage materials planning and inventory using SAP MM, including MRP and order creation.
- Ensure timely procurement, delivery, and tracking of materials for maintenance and capital projects.
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and warehouse teams to optimise materials availability.
- Generate reports and insights using Microsoft Excel and communicate updates via Outlook and other platforms.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in supply chain operations.
- Ensure our supply base provides the levels of service we demand by constant monitoring of lead times, prices and continuous dialogue.
- Experience in SAP MM and excellent IT Skills are essential.
Essential Criteria
- Experience with SAP MM (especially MRP & order processes).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
- Supply Chain experience
- Strong attention to detail and an analytical mindset.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
