  • You can purchase the ticket above using our Journey Planner. Tickets can only be purchased up to 90 days in advance.
  • An allocation of bookings on all InterCity services can be reserved online without a fee for 'Free Travel Pass or valid ticket holders'. When this allocation is fully booked, all remaining seats can be reserved by 'Free Travel Pass or valid ticket holders' for €2.50 per journey.

What are the conditions of travel?

Where there is doubt regarding the age qualification, it is the responsibility of the passenger or their guardian or parent to produce satisfactory evidence of age when requested by any Iarnród Éireann staff member. Amendments and cancellations are subject to the fare purchased ie Low, Semi Flexible, Flexible, First Class. 

Children under 5 years travel free in standard class on any Iarnród Éireann services when accompanied by a passenger holding a valid ticket, provided children do not occupy seats required for paying passengers. Failure to produce a valid ticket, appropriate ID or surcharge where necessary will result in a fine of €100 together with the relevant unpaid fare.

What are the conditions of travel?

  • Customers must be in possession of a  TFI Young Adult (19-25 years) Leap Card or a TFI Student Leap Card to avail of student discounted tickets
  • Individual third level institution cards or ISIC cards are no longer accepted as valid forms of ID
  • Amendments and cancellations are subject to the fare purchased ie Low, Semi Flexible, Flexible, First Class
  • Failure to produce a valid ticket, appropriate valid ID or surcharge where necessary will result in a fine and the relevant unpaid fare.

Title

Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) Services Technician / Technical Executive, Design and Construction Section, Network Enhancements, Capital Investment Division. 

Role and Purpose

  • Assist the Senior Project Manager, M&E, Design and Construction Section, with the delivery of M&E projects to authorised budget, time, quality and scope targets
  • Monitoring and reporting all aspects of the M&E tasks to support projects in Network Enhancements
  • To assist with the effective implementation of projects within Network Enhancements, and as required by applicable industry standards, regulations and legislation
  • Implementation of Iarnród Éireann and Capital Investment Division Standards
  • To provide professional support in terms of management of projects undertaken by the Programme Manager, Network Enhancements.

Reporting Relationships

Reports to:

  • Senior Project Manager, M&E, Design and Construction, Network Enhancements.

Manages as Direct Reports:

  • As required by the Senior Project Manager M&E, Design and Construction, Network Enhancements. 

Working Relationship with:

  • External contractors
  • External consultants
  • Programme Managers, Project Managers, Planners, Task Leaders and Designers working within Network Enhancements
  • CCE, SET, CME, RU Staff

Key Qualities

Essential

  • Minimum Level 6 qualification in in Mechanical/Electrical/Building Services engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years project engineering experience in relevant engineering/construction environment
  • Strong leadership, negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Relevant general management, site supervision and project delivery experience
  • A full driving license
  • Availability to work occasional weekend and/or night shifts.

Desirable

  • Experience of M&E and Building Refurbishment projects
  • Experience working within a multi-disciplinary team/project
  • Understanding of Project Management processes and procedures
  • Good Knowledge of CAD and Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Software programmes
  • Knowledge of the Construction Regulations
  • Experience of working on multiple sites/projects and balancing workloads.

General Management Responsibilities

  • Engineering: To ensure that all projects are properly authorized and progressed in accordance with the Building Regulations, IE and IM policy, standards and procedures

Specific Responsibilities

Engineering

  • Assist the Senior Project Manager, M&E, Design and Construction, Network Enhancements in the delivery of capital projects
  • Responsible in your area of control for the feasibility, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover of projects
  • Responsible for ensuring that projects and tasks are managed in accordance with defined project management and control procedures
  • Responsible for the ongoing implementation of appropriate project and contract control mechanisms and for their monitoring and reporting
  • Keep abreast of the latest company and industry standards as they apply to your projects.

Safety

  • Implement the construction regulations
  • Where applicable, support SMS 14 and APIS safety approvals processes
  • You will completely and fully deliver your responsibilities as specified in the Safety Responsibility Statement which accompanies this role
  • Undertake and manage, as appropriate, incident investigations as requested
  • Review on an on-going basis risks relevant to your role including both occupational and asset related risks
  • Ensure that all briefings on Safety are completed with all staff as necessary.
