EU Taxonomy Accountant
Location – Connolly HQ
Reports to: Financial Controller
Grade – 4C €78,674.53 - €81,952.61
We are currently recruiting for the position of EU Taxonomy Accountant. The successful candidate will be responsible for compliance within all aspects of EU taxonomy.
Key responsibilities
- Work as a key member of the Shared Services and wider IÉ Finance team to deliver the business strategy that will continue to the financial objectives of the company.
- Meet the financial reporting requirements for IÉ both under the EU Taxonomy regulations and the financial element of CSRD including a real financial and commercial understanding of the numbers.
- Safeguard the organisations assets by ensuring adequate levels of reporting and accountability.
- Manage timely and accurate preparation of all financial reporting to ensure requirements are met.
- Maintenance of systems and controls to ensure adequate backup documentation and audit trail for transactions.
Specific responsibilities
- Periodic management accounting reporting to agreed deadlines for EU taxonomy IÉ company.
- Attending Environmental Sustainability Committee meetings and workshops to assist with design of CSRD Reporting System.
- Management of Year end accounting processes in line with EU taxonomy reporting requirements
- Development of systems and reporting to meet internal and external reporting requirements.
- Engage proactively with external auditors during statutory and NTA audits.
- Working in conjunction with all colleagues to ensure that EU taxonomy guidelines are being adhered to
- Ensuring all policies and procedures are being adhered to, with no significant compliance issues arising.
- Provide assistance to shared services finance team where necessary for financial and management business reporting.

Essential Criteria
- Certified / Chartered / CIMA Accountant or equivalent.
- Minimum 4+ years post qualification experience
- Financial management experience, strong corporate governance aptitude and commercial experience is required.
- Significant proven track record and experience in the financial reporting, periodic end process and managing to tight reporting deadlines.
Desirable Criteria
- Ability to meet tight deadlines consistently providing timely, accurate and relevant financial data, and to take end to end ownership for delivery.
- Motivated self-starter with initiative and strong emphasis on delivery and execution
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Adaptability and initiative, strong sense of integrity and responsibility
- Practical financial control experience and a track record of operating at a high level.
- Very strong communication skills
- Strong knowledge of FRS102 reporting requirements
- Good working knowledge of SAP applications
- EU taxonomy knowledge
- Environmental/Sustainability management system experience
