Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) Services Technician / Technical Executive

Applications are being invited from suitably qualified candidates for the position Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) Services Technician / Technical Executive.
We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) Services Technician / Technical Executive to join our dynamic team at Iarnród Éireann. In this role, you will play a crucial role in assisting the Senior Project Manager, M&E, Design and Construction Section with the delivery of M&E projects. Your main responsibilities will include, assisting with the effective implementation of projects within Network Enhancements, and as required by applicable industry standards, regulations and legislation.
Purpose of the role
- Assist the Senior Project Manager, M&E, Design and Construction Section, with the delivery of M&E projects to authorised budget, time, quality and scope targets
- Monitoring and reporting all aspects of the M&E tasks to support projects in Network Enhancements
- To assist with the effective implementation of projects within Network Enhancements, and as required by applicable industry standards, regulations and legislation
- Implementation of Iarnród Éireann and Capital Investment Division Standards
- To provide professional support in terms of management of projects undertaken by the Programme Manager, Network Enhancements.
Key Qualities
Essential
- Minimum Level 6 qualification in in Mechanical/Electrical/Building Services engineering
- Minimum of 5 years project engineering experience in relevant engineering/construction environment
- Strong leadership, negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Relevant general management, site supervision and project delivery experience
- A full driving license
- Availability to work occasional weekend and/or night shifts.
Desirable
- Experience of M&E and Building Refurbishment projects
- Experience working within a multi-disciplinary team/project
- Understanding of Project Management processes and procedures
- Good Knowledge of CAD and Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Software programmes
- Knowledge of the Construction Regulations
- Experience of working on multiple sites/projects and balancing workloads.
General Responsibilities will include
- Safety: To act as a focus for safety in line with the Capital Investments Safety Management System and to discharge your safety responsibilities as outlined by your reporting Manager and Safety Responsibility Statement (SRS)
- Engineering: To ensure that all projects are properly authorized and progressed in accordance with the Building Regulations, IE and IM policy, standards and procedures
- Business: To manage, coordinate and control all projects and related activities for your business
- People: To ensure regular communication with all colleagues within your area and to support the People Management policy within the IÉ team.
