Salary – Executive Grade B (€57,405.47 - €69,787.39)
The Opportunity
Iarnród Éireann is seeking an energetic and visionary Rail Youth Champion to lead a Programme that connects young people with the future of rail in Ireland. This exciting role, as part of our Transformation team, will help shape how the next generation’s views rail by bringing our ambitious vision to life across schools, colleges, and youth organizations nationwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver a nationwide Rail Youth Engagement Programme, collaborating with teams across Iarnród Éireann to connect our vision for rail with young audiences.
- Lead interactive road shows and educational initiatives that showcase the innovation, sustainability and impact of rail.
- Build partnerships with schools, universities, and youth organizations, promoting meaningful engagement and collaboration.
- Inspire young people - particularly women and girls - to explore STEM subjects and careers in the transport and rail industries.
- Support the development of creative communication campaigns that use storytelling, digital tools, and social media to share the excitement of modern rail transport systems.
- Oversee Programme governance, reporting, and performance tracking to ensure successful delivery and measurable outcomes.
Essential Requirements
A genuine passion for youth engagement and inspiring the next generation.
At least three years’ experience in outreach, education, or community engagement roles, with a proven record of designing and delivering impactful initiatives.
Evidence of success in cross-functional collaboration and project delivery at scale.
Excellent leadership, creativity, and communication skills with the ability to motivate and influence diverse audiences.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- A third-level qualification or equivalent professional experience.
- Knowledge of the transport or rail industry in Ireland and across Europe.
- Experience in creating and delivering Programmes specifically aimed at young people.
- A track record in developing and scaling innovative ideas or campaigns.
