Senior Earthworks & Drainage Engineer, Chief Civil Engineers (CCE) Department
Location: Will be agreed with successful candidate with Regional offices in Dublin, Athlone and Limerick Junction.
Remote Working: Available as per Remote Working policy.
Salary: €72k-€87K (Dependent on role & commensurate with suitable Qualification and Experience)
Contract Hours: 36-hour per week.
Contract Duration: Fixed Term leading to permanency.
Annual Leave Entitlement: 25 days per annum, rising to 28 based on service.

Iarnród Eireann, Irish Rail are now recruiting for a Senior Earthworks & Drainage Engineer, Chief Civil Engineers (CCE) Department. The successful candidate will become part of the CCE Technical team. The Senior Earthworks & Drainage Engineer will provide support to the program of projects with emphasis on promoting and maintaining the technical adequacy, uniformity, and quality of our vast quantity of Earthworks and Drainage project designs, ensuring they conform with approved standards. They will also be responsible for developing a new state-of-the-art database of our historical network of assets and managing these thereafter, key to this will be the development, implementation and management of a new interactive system for both earthworks and drainage assets across our network.

We are in a period of major investment programmes in the maintenance, renewal and upgrading of our infrastructure, as well as the transformation of our fleet. This is an exciting opportunity to join our ‘One Team’ to help in the safe and efficient provision of railway services.
Essential Requirements:
- Level 8 Degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering, as a minimum requirement.
- Chartered status with a recognised Institution.
- Demonstrable competencies in drainage and earthwork Engineering, including asset management and design.
Desirable:
- A working knowledge of railway infrastructure and systems.
- Understanding of project management procedures.
- Experience in applying business systems to manage data.
