  • You can purchase the ticket above using our Journey Planner. Tickets can only be purchased up to 90 days in advance.
  • An allocation of bookings on all InterCity services can be reserved online without a fee for 'Free Travel Pass or valid ticket holders'. When this allocation is fully booked, all remaining seats can be reserved by 'Free Travel Pass or valid ticket holders' for €2.50 per journey.

What are the conditions of travel?

Where there is doubt regarding the age qualification, it is the responsibility of the passenger or their guardian or parent to produce satisfactory evidence of age when requested by any Iarnród Éireann staff member. Amendments and cancellations are subject to the fare purchased ie Low, Semi Flexible, Flexible, First Class. 

Children under 5 years travel free in standard class on any Iarnród Éireann services when accompanied by a passenger holding a valid ticket, provided children do not occupy seats required for paying passengers. Failure to produce a valid ticket, appropriate ID or surcharge where necessary will result in a fine of €100 together with the relevant unpaid fare.

*Children aged 5 to 8 can now travel free on Transport for Ireland (TFI) services with a Child (5-8) TFI Leap Card. For more information and to apply, please visit the Leap Card website.

  • Young Adults (19-25 years) and Students in full time education

What are the conditions of travel?

  • Customers must be in possession of a  TFI Young Adult (19-25 years) Leap Card or a TFI Student Leap Card to avail of student discounted tickets
  • Individual third level institution cards or ISIC cards are no longer accepted as valid forms of ID
  • Amendments and cancellations are subject to the fare purchased ie Low, Semi Flexible, Flexible, First Class
  • Failure to produce a valid ticket, appropriate valid ID or surcharge where necessary will result in a fine and the relevant unpaid fare.

Rosslare Europort Duty Supervisor

Location: Rosslare, Co. Wexford

Salary: €65,323.52-78,325.62 per annum

Iarnród Éireann is seeking applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Rosslare Europort Duty Supervisor.  The successful candidates will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all Port operative activities and the delivery of customer service as designated in the Job Description.

Key responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Operate the Local Port System in accordance with the prescribed LPS procedures.
  • Responsible for the complete and safe performance of one’s own duties
  • Monitor all operations in the Port to ensure the port is always operated in compliance with the Safety management System.
  • Responsible for the safe supervision of the safety and welfare of Port Operative Staff.
  • Implement Emergency Response Procedures, as required
  • Undertake safety inspections and tours
  • Undertake safety briefings with staff
  • Assist in the provision of training for new and existing staff. Familiarise and update staff with their duties where necessary
  • Ensure compliance with all safe working procedures.
  • Monitor the condition of Operative Staff PPE, safety, communications & other equipment.
  • Ensure resources are allocated across all port terminal operations safely, efficiently to facilitate all port customer’s needs at all times.
  • Ensure breaks are allocated and taken at suitable times during operations to minimise impact on service and in compliance with all relevant health & safety legislation.
  • Assist with the periodic review of the training needs analysis. Ensure all in house training is completed prior to expiry of any training competency. Assist with the issue, refresh and recording of competency certificates
  • Ensure any Damages caused during operations are properly investigated, recorded and documented by co-ordinator. Maintain a log of any damage caused during shift and investigate as required, ensuring all necessary records completed.

  • Decision making skills to ensure resources are allocated to prioritise staff safety, operations efficiency and customer service.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and give instruction.
  • Ability to supervise a large team in frontline operations and deliver services to the required standards.
  • Ensure the provision of excellent customer service for all users of Rosslare Europort. Co-ordinate customer service during times of disruption, should this take place.
