Business Analyst Systems Finance (12 Month Secondment)

Location: Connolly Head Office

Salary: Ungraded Executive Level 4A

Applications are invited for the position of Business Systems Analyst – Finance. This role will report in to the manager, Systems finance and will also work with both internal and external resources depending on specific project/development requirements. The role has ongoing key interfaces with all IÉ Finance Managers and their teams, as well as other business representatives based on specific project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and develop the SAP ECC, SAP S/4 HANA, BI and SAP Analytics Cloud financial reporting and planning systems for all 7 IÉ Company Codes to deliver financial reporting and planning requirements.
  • Administer, maintain and provide user support for SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) reports.
  • Provision of reports and data to support key Finance reporting and processes including financial and management reporting, planning and budgeting reports/processes, consolidated and statutory reporting.
  • Preparation, maintenance and updating of the SAC/BI reports, models and associated processes including reconciliation to source systems, data review, period end processes and changes as required by business users.
  • Provide support and training to Finance Teams on period end Finance closing, Budget/Forecast, 5 Year Plan cycles and management and statutory reporting processes.
  • Review and analyse available and potential data, to enhance and develop reporting capability across the IÉ business utilising the SAC system.
  • Support the general finance teams and related functional areas with reporting, systems or business process development requirements, incorporating specification design, identification of relevant data sources, coordination of relevant parties, project and test management
  • Support the development of data integration requirements for the SAC system, incorporating CIÉ Group IT, SAP and other Third-Party systems.
  • Deputy Business Continuity Co-ordinator supporting ongoing enhancement and review of the Finance Business Continuity Plan.
  • Support and administration functions related to the SAP/BI/SAC systems such as data validation, user access, update management, user training and process changes etc.
  • Review of associated Systems Projects which have a financial/data impact.

Essential Requirements

  • Strong Experience with SAP/BI/SAC systems
  • Excellent MS Office skills, particularly Excel
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills 
  • Strong Delivery/Execution Focus
  • Accounting/Technical Qualification 
  • Ability to work to strict timescales

Desirable Requirements

  • Proven track record in systems-based Finance projects
  • Experience in Budgeting and Forecasting and complex Financial modelling
  • Experience with Data Analytics 
  • Change and Test Management Experience
