Updating Your Browser and Operating System

Our booking system and mobile apps requires a minimum operating system and browser versions to allow a customer transact. This is to protect the system as well as you, the customer. The versions of these browsers that irishrail.ie support are:

Browser Versions

  • Chrome - Latest version + 1 previous major versions are supported
  • Safari - Latest version + 1 previous major versions are supported
  • Microsoft Edge - Latest version + 1 previous major versions are supported
  • Firefox - Latest version + 1 previous major versions are supported

Operating Systems (Mobile Apps)

  • iOS - Latest version + 2 previous major versions are supported
  • Android - Latest version + 2 previous major versions are supported

Customers who's browsers on their phone, tablet or desktop PC needs updating will receive a message 'Your browser is outdated'. Please follow the steps below to check and where applicable update your browser or operating system:

How to update your browser on Desktop and Laptop:

The following step by step guide will show you how to update your browser to enable you to use our brand new website.


Chrome 

Please follow the instructions on Google Chrome Support page to update Chrome. 

Safari 

Please follow the instrucions on Apple support page to update Safari. 

Microsoft Edge

Please follow the instructions on Microsoft support page to update Edge. 

Firefox 

Please follow the instructions on Firefox support page to update Firefox.

How to update your browser on Mobile and Tablet devices:

iOS 

  1. Open the 'App Store'
  2. Click 'Updates' in the bottom right hand corner
  3. Update the browser app you are using
  4. When the update is complete your browser will be up to date

Android

  1. Open the 'Play Store'
  2. Click the menu icon in the top left corner
  3. Select 'my apps and games'
  4. Select the browser app you need to update
  5. When the update is complete your browser will be up to date

If you are receiving the following message while using our apps; 'Your operating system needs to be updated' you will need to carry out the necessary updates to access our new website.
