We advise all users of our current apps to download the latest version where possible. Some users on older devices may not be able to get the latest app version. The old app will still work for some time but we can not guarantee for how long.

The Iarnród Éireann Irish Rail mobile app is available in Google’s Play Store and Apple's App Store.

Our app is free to download and has the following features:

Use the Journey planner and new tools for booking your trip with us.
Get live departure and arrival information. New tools let you change the display of results on screen to your liking.
See what stations are nearby based on your current location.
See intermediate stations on your journey and whether or not there are any changes en route.
'Save' and 'Favourite' functions for the destinations and routes you travel the most.
See your past bookings and queries with us in the 'history' section.
Live maps of train movements and new tools to improve user experience.
New Home Screen - The app will open on the home screen with four modules. You can choose which modules show up on your home screen and change the order they show up in.
Trip Alarm - you can get push notification alerts to show you when a train is delayed. You can choose to get notifications from 20-60 minutes in advance of the scheduled departure time. You can also choose what delays will show up for you. For example, you can choose to get notified if your train is delayed by 5+ minutes or by 15+ minutes. The alerts can be set up to send on any day of the week or all depending on your preference.
Commuter alarms - you can be notified of disruptions between their stations during a chosen timeframe. This is most useful for regular commuters. You will be notified of delays to any train that serves both the origin and destination during the timeframe you choose.
Hop on/hop off Alerts - You can subscribe to a specific train and you will see notifications for when to get ready to board and exit the train. This will be useful for those with accessibility needs, or if there are issues with the PA on board.
In-App Purchasing - A ‘Book Now’ link brings the user to the mobile optimised Journey Planner.

Our website is fully responsive on mobile devices. It will enhance your web experience on PC, laptop, tablet or phone. It will allow you to view content and book your journey in a mobile friendly format. So whether you’re on your PC to check fares, your tablet to find train times, or on your mobile to make a booking, you’ll be able to access what you need.
