Iarnród Éireann is building for a future which will see the role of our rail services maximised in meeting the transport needs of the communities we serve, and the wider economy and environment.
Our current Capital Investments Programme is the largest such programme in our history and requires committed project delivery professionals to help make its ambitious aims a reality. The roll out of the Capital Investments Programme will involve the production, co-ordination, storage and communication of a large volume of new design, construction, contractual and asset management information. The Capital Investments Division is currently developing processes and technological solutions for managing this information and, as part of this work, we are seeking to recruit a Digital and Information Manager.
Role and Purpose of the Position
- Responsible for the deployment and continued efficient and effective use of all new data management and operations systems into Capital Investments.
- Responsible for managing the client CDE or any other project information-management platforms. This could include hosting project CDE’s (especially if engaging third parties).
- Collaborates with project teams to ensure that the right data, in the correct format, is delivered at the right time, i.e. in accordance with the relevant Exchange Information Requirements. Assesses requirements for data-sharing and system compatibility.
- Supports the project teams in validating data at the point of delivery, ensuring that it is correct and in context.
- Supports the project teams by acting, where required, as the intermediary between designers, clients, and architects so that projects remain efficient and effective.
- Oversees that the production of project information models, data, drawings, and schedules associated with the design and construction phase of a project is carried out in accordance with the relevant departmental standards.
- Supports the project team in the handover of project information models, data, drawings, and schedules to the relevant asset owner / manager in accordance with the relevant Exchange Information Requirements.
- Coordinates and maps key integrations and data dependencies across all systems and platforms used by Capital Investments.

Essential Requirements
- Minimum 3rd level qualification in Engineering, Architecture, Computer Science or Information & Communications Technology
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in an information management / data management role in a civil engineering / architectural design office or project management office environment
- Highly knowledgeable in the management and use of Project Management Information Systems and Common Data Environments.
- Experienced in the use of BIM and setting applicable standards with internal and external parties.
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong organisational skills and self-motivated.
- Member of relevant professional body, e.g. Engineers Ireland
Desirable
- Certification in the use of Project Management Software applications / Common Data Environment applications
- Experience in the development of an asset management strategy to support the creation of and use of Digital Twin models
