New Stations

Kishoge Station

Work is ongoing on the restoration of Kishoge Station and it is anticipated that it will open in summer of 2024 and will be the 146th station on the network. The new Station is located on the Portlaoise commuter line between Adamstown and Clondalkin Fonthill stations and will serve the communities of Clonburris as well as existing communities in its hinterland.

Once DART+ South West is completed, the station will be served by a DART service. Upon opening it will be served by Portlaoise commuter services.

The Station was completed in 2009, but due to economic conditions, the development that was anticipated to occur around the station did not progress. This development is now well underway. Funded by the National Transport Authority the current works include:

  • Deep clean of station
  • Repairs to surfacing of platforms and concourse
  • Repair and upgrade of station building and glazing
  • Repair and upgrade of mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Install new station and wayfinding signage
  • Refurbishment of the lifts

Woodbrook Station

Work commenced on the construction of a new station at Woodbrook in November 2023. Woodbrook station, which is located between Bray and Shankill, will serve the existing and new communities of Woodbrook and Shanganagh. It will be the 147th Station on the network and will open in 2025.

Funded by the National Transport Authority, the station supports transport and land-use policy, which will result in the development of a substantial compact sustainable residential community in the Woodbrook-Shanganagh area.

Woodbrook Station will consist of two 174m long platforms with associated passenger shelters, seating, lighting, CCTV, customer information, bicycle parking and ticketing facilities. Access across the railway tracks will be via a new pedestrian bridge with ramped and stepped access. Modifications to the existing overhead-line equipment is required. The station design considers and allows for future plans for pedestrian and cycling access routes in the station vicinity. Access to the station is via Woodbrook Avenue which is a new road currently under construction.

Existing DART services are planned to serve the station with a service frequency of approximately every 10 minutes in each direction on weekdays. The journey time to Dublin city centre will be approximately 40 minutes.
