Marketing Communications Manager
Iarnród Éireann is inviting applications for the role of Marketing Communications Manager. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and results-driven, customer focused professional to shape and deliver our Marketing Communications strategy, with a strong focus on stakeholder management.
As a central member of the Marketing and Business Development team, the successful candidate will be responsible for Marketing Communications activities, maximum return on investment (ROI) across campaigns and channels.
A key part of this role is managing the relationship with external advertising and media agencies to ensure the delivery of high-impact, insight-driven campaigns aligned to the organisation’s strategic objectives.
This position comes at a time when Iarnród Éireann is in its greatest period of expansion presenting an exciting opportunity for a marketing professional to work on a customer centric national brand that is delivering for the people of Ireland.
Responsibilities
- Support the business requirements in terms of the procurement and tender processes for marketing contracts, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
- Establish and maintain strategic relationships with external agencies, managing performance, budgets, and deliverables.
- Develop creative and media agency briefs with specific measurable KPI’s for each campaign. Manage agency hours, and ensure agencies deliver against KPIs, budgets, and timelines for each campaign.
- Oversee campaign planning, creative development, media strategy, and execution across all channels.
- Oversee workload balancing to meet campaign and project deadlines.
- Develop and implement integrated marketing communication strategies that support national brand objectives, support commercial, operational, and customer needs.
- Ensure all campaigns reflect the values of Iarnród Éireann and align with public service obligations and accessibility standards.
- Collaborate closely with the National Transport Authority (NTA) and other public transport operators to present a unified and consistent Transport for Ireland brand and customer experience.
Essential Criteria
Applicants must demonstrate:
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven experience managing marketing communications for a national or large-scale brand or public body.
- Creativity and skilled in crafting communication that resonates with segmented audiences.
- Strong understanding of media planning and buying across all media channels.
- Strong financial acumen and confidence managing marketing budgets.
- Sound commercial judgment with the ability to analyse complex data and deliver results under pressure.
- A broad knowledge of Iarnród Éireann’s proposition, product, and service offering.
